What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

We give free estimates on any repair or installation job and we service all makes and models. We offer and install new Lift Master & Marantec openers. Senior, Military & First Responders get 10% off any repair. Teachers get set 15% off any repair! (We love teachers) Locally Owned and Operated!

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

With a new customer, the typical process is confirming appointment time/date/location via phone, text or email. We do a 21-point inspection on every garage door to check to see what work needs to be done. Then go over the Free Estimate with homeowner and hopefully earn your business. Simple. We are friendly and fair and our customers are our #1 priority.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I got a lot of hands-on training and really enjoyed the work. Since I'm a handy guy, it was a good fit. Business ownership was the next step for me and my family.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

I've been a business owner since 2006. When COVID hammered my other businesses, I decided I needed to pivot into a service-based business that people need. Garage doors is one of those things that even do-it-yourselfers don't like to mess with because it can be dangerous. So after careful consideration, my wife and I decided to buy into ProLift.

What types of customers have you worked with?

Home owners, property managers, renters.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

Just recently, we went to a customer's home to fix her garage door. Turned out, her door was in worse shape than she initially thought. Luckily, we happened to get a hold of an insulated door that she wanted and we installed it and a new ProLift/Marantec opener, all in the same day.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Although we are a realatively new business entity, we have staff that has garage door experience. When looking for a garage door company to hire, go with folks that are responsive and friendly...and that's us! :-)

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

Should your opener be malfunctioning, please make sure the photo sensors are not obstructed and connecting with each other. If your spring(s) is broken, DO NOT try to lift the garage door. They can be very heavy and therefore, dangerous. Is your garage door and hardware accessible for a technician? In other words, is the garage "work area" clear of storage and other items that may be in the way of getting work done? If not, please clear area for a garage door technician so they can get in there and do their thing and get your door back up and running again. Sure sometimes the door isn't operational and a car is trapped inside...no problem, just let us know in advance so we make sure getting your car out is the first priority.
